Yoga blocks are a staple in practicing yoga, and for good reason. The best use of a yoga block is when you are first starting out. You will need a block in order to create the proper body positions during poses that are either challenging your balance or your muscle length.
The yoga block will help you to create good body positions for yourself that you will use indefinitely as you continue to grow in your practice. They are a foundational tool, but they can also help provide a bit of resistance in certain positions to help increase your muscle strength.
So now that we’ve established why you need one, why do you need a cork block? Cork is a completely natural, recurring and easily renewable material. It can be harvested without harming the tree, and grows back periodically every few years. Only about 50% of the bark is removed at the time of harvesting. It is also biodegradable, and will break down into the environment at the end of its life cycle.
Cork repels dust and hair, is durable, and it’s easy to clean and maintain.
